Fighters run out of ammo
Fighters do attack ships with machine guns but after firing for a while they stop firing and start flying around the ships like lunatics.I assume they ran out of ammo but they never com back. How can I recall my fighters

As far as i know they are performing strafing runs and never have to return, where as your bombers and torpedo planes can only hold one round of ammo. The fighter's inital attack seems to be some kind of rockets first, and then the machine guns also, so i guess only the rockets run out

@Jersey123: there are no rockets in the game except the rocket tubes. Well the fighters are programmed to keep strafing the enemy till it sinks because they do that when I battle other people.

Fighters have about three strafing runs worth of Vulcan cannon fire. On other planes, they use an infinite ammo AA gun. However, sometimes they big out and don't return when they're out of Vulcan cannon ammo. So yeah.

They have a certain amount of ammo then the straff the rest of the way. As for the bombers and torpedo planes come back to reload because they are equipped with only on "bullet"

I think your aircraft carrier is too far or too fast from you aircrafts. If you want to land your aircrafts you need to slow down your aircraft carrier.
