Sending the Yamato to Davy Jones's locker (Closed)

I don't have any problems crushing Shinano or Capricornus or any other ship in multiplayer, but the Yamato is just everyting that is unholy about this game. I've sunk it in multiplayer along with subs, carriers, battleships, destroyers, and pretty much everything else. But I just can't beat the drill Yamato. If you guys have any info that might help, it is greatly appreciated.

Like you've always done, use a sub to kill drill Yamato.

Tried that, didn't work. I've tried everything, trust me. Subs, carriers, battleships and everything else.

Hit it on the deck beside its two forward turrets, preferably on your right, but shoot at the left deck if that's not possible. 2-4 good volleys should send it to the bottom. As for movement, just move straight ahead. One thing though, avoid hitting the mini mast at the tip of the bow, as it can act as a lightningrod for your shells. Simple, really. PS: You can always just use a submarine. I quickly made one, just for fun, and with 1 torpedo tube, eventually sank it.

Thanks! But one thing. What would be the best weapon to use against Yamato, because I have 5 46cm guns and 5 Mk 45 5" guns, and I tried this, And it almost worked. I took out all 3 of his 46cm guns, but the ones on the side just kept shooting at me, and they were too high up for me to hit them.

Well, those guns are simply pathetic, if they even dent your ship, it needs a successor with better armor, or a massive revamp. My ship currently, can simply make it through the level by going straight forward, and fire at Yamato with no tactics, now, your ship doesn't have as many 18.1" guns, but you should be able to still do that, but let's just work towards this. Honestly, there's no easy solution to the secondary armament, but even having a puny armor rating of around 250 should stop those small shells. Long story short, redesign with more armor.

Try to improve your speed(to at least 80 knots) and beef up your amour a bit. for tactics speed towards it while firing as many wepons as you can but if you have realy good stability swerve away from all the large shells.

The 46cm gun is 18.1". It is the 90000 gun in the shop.

Two simple things 1. dont put to many guns on it for your ship will just get weaker and make it fast really fast 2. put loads and loads of planes on it and when you launch the planes just drive BACKWARDS as fast as you ship will go and i garentee you WILL get past the yamato and this will do good against the arecraft carrier because all YOUR planes will destract the others and you can get throw with out a scratch

I made a simple destroyer that moves over 100 knots(speed tweak). it is really small and has virtually NO armor. the only weapons used were 1-2 mk-45s. just move your ship in, fire a few shots, and move back out of the yammato's range. rely on speed to keep your ship alive, and move in a wide circle to the back of the Yammato, for there are less cannons there. keep using the hit and run tactic on different sides of the ship and you will eventually sink it or topple it over. be patient, it took me a long time, keep shooting, even if it seems that you are not doing damage and use your mk-45 to find weak spots in it's armor

What I did, was i used a sub i made myself. It goes 50 knots underwater, and when i got close, turned to his side, shot him with my torps(i have 2 on each side) went under him, back around the other side, and kept shooting torps at him until he sank. It took a while, but eventually, i made it, no scratches

I have a fast battlecruizer(194.4 knots,976 armor, about 2000 toughness) with two 460mm guns and two Mk45 guns in the front, assisted by two triple torpedo tube in the back, sunk Yamato and get three stars everytime. I have tried to sink it with my sub( eight torpedo tubes on each side, totally sixteen). Yamato sinks after being hit by 11 torpedoes ( sometimes thirteen)
