Question & Answers

Mine destruction: shooting or ramming

Can you destroy mines by shooting them or is it only by raming it? I need to know for when one of my ships become VIP.

I don't think that shooting them works. If you ram the mines they will blow up and most likely kill you unless your ship has really high toughness and armor.

None works in ways of not hurting your ship, you shoot it, nothing happens, ram it, BOOM your ship is heavily damaged

Shooting doesn't work, but there's always floats (which can also make torpedo nets and whatnot) which can detonate them. Ramming without float nets will result in a moderate chunk of health disappearing (around a quarter) so your best bet is to simply avoid them and so-on.

Basically ramming a mine will kill your ship instantly if you have only average armor. Only a huge ship has enough and even so it can only withstand 2 hits or so. Shooting it is NOT flipping effective at all. Most specialized ships have more mines so if you have a float net it will be destroyed with the first mine and get you damaged with the next. So float nets are only effective with NON specialized mine ships. But dont even THINK about using it on subs. Subs will probably lay their mines directly BELOW you if they get close enough. So in this case, a ounce of prevention (Agility) is better than a pound of cure (Ridiculously large amounts of armor)
