When I click on a flowe basket it gives me three options, trash, turn it or a cardboard box-- what does the box mean?

You can store it for later there and can find it again in the shop list anytime. Do this instead of trashing because you don't waste the money you spent.

It stores it, if you go to buy that item it will show how many stored before you can buy another
