How to Level Up Without Fail?

How do you level up without failing? I see people selling cards with 8 level ups and I can barely do 2 without a fail in between.

You basically have to have stars to 'increase rate'. This is Com2Us' way of allowing the game to be free, but forcing you to buy in-app purchases to enhance your game experience.
