Veteran Rod Upgrade
To catch SS level fish, it requires the Veteran, God of Fishing, rod to be upgraded past level 6 or so. I've now tried to upgrade the rod using gold and coins over 30 times (precise upgrade and upgrade) and I still can't get it over 6 upgrades! Every time I upgrade it up to 6, it fails and drops me down two levels. Is there a way to get the rod upgraded without failing? How many times am I expected to upgrade the rod?

I have found that upgrading items more than once usually results in a failed upgrade at the higher upgrade levels. I would upgrade rod to level 5 and then go do some fishing and come back later to upgrade to level 6. Hopefully that works for you. Also, I would use precise upgrade when going from level 5 to level 6. Good luck!

I discovered a glitch which I used to get my veteran rod to +8. Just use precise upgrades on an extremely slow or far away Wi-Fi signal. Your game will appear to freeze for up to a minute each time you press the upgrade button. But the slow network allows you unlimited upgrades because the special coins won't be used up. It's still ridiculously annoying though. It took me an hour to get to 8. I had climbed to 7 many times but kept getting dropped back down to as low as 4. I may try to get to +9 one day if I have the patience. Hope it works for you, happy fishing :)

@French dude amazing find! Works like a charm. I'm at a level 7 veteran rod and didn't pay a single coin. My method is a bit more tricky than yours. At first I tried being almost out of range of my wifi which worked every now and then but I would still get coins debited every now and then. I then tried turning off every communication service on my phone except Edge the i would go in the game click precise upgrade, "Yes" then quickly close the app, take off Edge network and then open up the game again. When in the game the upgrade would be successful or fail but it would never take any coins from my account. Repeat steps above and free upgrades!

@addicted it works dude! But sometimes I failed to upgrade because it's too hard to find some place that far from my wifi
