Exploring all at once?

Ok so I have been saving up my machetes for a cpl months and have 30 at the moment..now what im wondering is; should I use them all at once? Or should I use one per day? I have about 10 quests that require me to explore to find items and I was guessing that if I stayed on the exploring screen that my chances of finding everything would be much higher since im doing them all at once. What do you think?

I have used 100's of machetes to explore the forest and havent found any quest items
