Above the arrow that lets you jump, there is a button with a pine cone on it, if you just tap that button you can shoot the pine cones, but only if you actually have any pine cones. There is a counter on your screen that shows you how many pine cones you're holding so you know how many you have left to throw, so if it says 0/0 then you won't be able to throw any
