What's the best to use the Hobbit Building Crew on?

I should use it on your keep. This will give you 3 more spaces to build resource buildings and you can have 1 more wild (and btw, with an keep lvl 10, your city will look that big as you see by much large players) The second one should be for your vault, with that lvl 10, you can store some 100k more of each res that can't be stolen. (You can eventually use it for your muster field if you attack much and like to sent armies with up to 100k troops, but this shouldn't be your first upgrade with an hobbit building crew) DON'T use it for baracks, homes or resource buildings, that won't give you much more, so its useless!

Academy. Grants access to lvl 10 researches. Keep. Allows extra wild and more farms.

The order of things to upgrade should be as follows:
Great hall (allows you to train a hero up to level 212 - that's another discussion)
Academy (allows a number of researches to get to level 10 without further upgrades, others require buildings to be level 10 before they can be researched. The most important are honed blades and vigor)
Muster Field (allows you to send 10 armies of 100k at one time)
Forge (required for siege weapons 10 - 10% faster build training)
ore vien (to get smelting - required for metal alloys)
Armory (for metal alloys - required for horseshoes)
Stables (for horseshoes)
farm (for fertilizer 10)
arboretum (for arbors 10)
quary (for masonry 10)
As you get bigger, idle population becomes more important. To maximize that and troop build speed (which is most impacted by the number of barracks you have) you need level 10 houses, but only 4 or so. Using hobbits on barracks seems to make little or no sense. If you're heavily dependent on your own resources, then a level 10 keep is nice, it also looks cool, but most players at that level farm most of their resources, so don't bother with level 10 keep or wall.
