Extra shields?
You start off the game with two shields is there a way to get more? I always get up to 5/6 trophies before everyone starts stealing them from me

The developers of the game plan for you to SPEND money. So they entice you with the 2 shields, but expect you to get frustrated when you see trophies disappear. The way to do the races is aggressively upgrade your fuel station until your offensive and defensive fuel supply is too high for you to be vulnerable. When you go on the offense and RACE, you are looking at your opponents defensive fuel supply. If your offense (say 100) is more than their defense (say 80) then, depending on other factors, you will probably win. But as soon as you get through there are other players doing the same thing. So buy the max fuel stations and upgrade. When you get your defensive fuel up to the high 80's, then you are less likely to get challengd.

That did not answer the question at all. Even with really money I can find no way to get more shields.

I got a an extra shield when i searched a location but that was just pure luck i guess. Of course, Rytec1 answer is pretty helpful. He tells you how to avoid losing trophies so that you don't need shields.
