Question & Answers
Every great once in a while, there is a soft knock at the door and a 3 y/o kid is standing there, asking to be adopted. Well, it happened to one of my families this morning under unusual circumstances. They are on the 5th generation. When I opened the game this morning, one of the elderly parents had died, as expected, and the wife was standing over the bed, mourning the dead and depressed. At that instant, there came the soft knock at the door and a 3 y/o boy was standing there, so I adopted him. Quick as a flash, the game brought me to the Family screen to pick a new generation. The new adoptee was shown there along with the three other children who left home long ago. I opted to delay the new generation. So, here I am with a 59 y/o mother and a 3 y/o new kid. Will she live to raise him? Should I use the time warp twice to make the mother 65? Does anyone know what's going to happen or know what I should do? Has this happened to anyone else?

No you dont need to use the time warp at all because this has happend to me just let the woman grow older and die and it will say "press new generation" click it and your new 3 y/o will be in his/her 20s

This happened to me before. You can continue to play as you did before previously with the other children. But, when the mother dies, you can start a new generation or continue to play with the adopted boy until he moves out of the house. If your mother dies soon, the only way to feed the boy is by "heating up some food" or "looking for snacks".
