Try psychotherapy. (The thing in upgrades that overcomes depression). Then, to keep his happiness up, give him candy, fruit, New clothes, house upgrades, furniture, etc. Check his likes and dislikes, and have him do what he likes. Adopt a kid if you can afford it. And if a marriage proposal EVER comes, accept right away, regardless of her personality, job, etc. Hope I helped!

Buy some candy from the flea market or buy a cheap pet. If you decide to buy a pet drag him over to the pet and make him pet it. When my people are sad I usually pause the game and praise them many times. Hope this helps!

Try going to the flea market and if its available, then by him candy, mangos, bananas, a movie ( if you have a tv). These are all emotion boosters, so they should help. I hope I helped and good luck!

Turtlelover, I don't know if I believe that a single person just inheriting the house and wanting children can or does get depressed or blue until that action happens. In all of my generations all of my new people are happy, is he well fed, rested, working. Has he had no proposals? If my proposals come slowly, and or I don't care for them I adopt before they get married. In fact I've had several single moms w/six kids, I'm far enough in generations that I have enough money to make that choice. I don't find these little people to be unhappy in general, it's caused by something, sickness, hunger, scolding, loss of family member. Take him and block him behind a couch and give him the green hand about 50 times, he can't run, his happiness will move up to elated real fast, it works I've done it. Then adopt a child for him, good luck and hope I helped in someway.

At first, my person is happy, but then sometimes she/he will become a bit blue. Just buy things for him, fruit, clothes, furniture, pets, etc. Get him married, have a baby, and I think he'll be fine. A bit blue isn't harmful, and doesn't affect gameplay at all. It's just three words on the screen, and I suggest just do what you would normally do. Good Luck. Hih
