How do you swing the tire for ten seconds?

Easy my friend, you just tap the tire swing twice, and there you go

Start swinging the tire by touching it then rotate your iPhone left to right to keep it going. I find it best to kill boss first so the doesn't jump and touch tire.

You actually swing the I pod around for 10 seconds in a circle after starting the tire swing to swing. It causes the tire to keep swinging. The only catch is it can't hit anything. Good luck!
