Question & Answers

Will fence protect sheep (Closed)

Will the wolf be able to get the sheep if they are inside the fence? Is there a difference between the three types of fences as to whether or not they will protect the sheep? I just reached level 10 when the wolf showed up, he's NASTY looking!!

I put mine behind the fence but my fenced portion is small and they were close to the edge. He bit one. Not sure if it is because the sheep was so close or what. Seems the only safe place is in buildings.

My sheep survived the wolf! I do have 30 of them now. All adults. I have 2 upgraded (level 2) barns, 3 regular barns, 1 upgraded shearing hut (level 2) and at the time, 1 shearing hut that is currently being upgraded. My fence is put in two sections that form sort of a triangle with the edge of the screen. 8 sections on each side. When the wolf came, I quickly put as many sheep as I could in the buildings. Luckily I had 4 that needed to be sheared. The rest were quickly put behind the fence and as far back as I could get them. Not sure all 30 would have fit behind the fence! No sheep ventured towards the edge of the fence. The wolf ran around and then left. So... Assuming that your fence is enclosed, the wolf can not get in. But he can bite if the sheep are close to the fence.

It does work. The wolf can't get in and wont hurt them. I have 2 fences so I put the baby sheep in the little ones in the small fence. Makes since.

Yes, it will protect them! But make sure when building your fence not to leave gaps. Also put food in the middle of the enclosed area so that most of them stay in the middle.

I built my fence as a square within a square. The inner square is about 6 fences by 6 fences. Then I left room around the sm fence so I could put sheep in the big square to graze. The big square is centered around the sm square and is 9 fences x9 fences. When the wolf comes, I put all the sheep I can in buildings then the rest in the small fenced area. No shot gun required!
