Game Question & Answers
Shadow-wolves or minotaurs?
Which are better? Minotaurs have more life, but the wolves do more damage, right? And how "big" are the wolves? Are they as big as minotaurs or as big as the knights on horses?
Answer from: Burns
Dire wolves, once max upgraded they have 7k health and over 1000 attack, also 1 unit of wolves(3 meat) is actually 3 woplves so the unit ratio is 1:1 not one wolve per one unit built. The dire wolve also gets better when it gets kills so even when it loses health it will gain strength from killing making it more effective. Definitely dire wolves

Another thing to consider is that Minotaurs attack rate is pretty slow. When I am fighting dire wolves v minotaurs the minotaurs barely get one hit in by the time it dies. Most of the time the minotaurs "berserk" mode -that they are supposed to go in before they die- kicks (orange triangles appear over their heads) in just in time for them to die.

Wolves get stronger the more they kill, but if they are facing minotaurs as their first target they wont have been able to get stronger by killing other weaker units and therefore can't be utilized to their fullest. So if there are weak units before the strong ones, dire wolves are good. For the minotaurs, they are very tanky and good against dire wolves if they are their first encounter. When minos get low on health they berserk. Their attack speed is greatly increased and maybe even their damage (not sure). At this stage they kill anything in a few swings. Combined with satyrs that slow the enemy, minotaurs will take all the damage, protecting the satyrs, and by the time the enemy is within reach, the satyrs will have brought the health down greatly and only need to put in a few swings to kill. If they then go berzerk, they will kill off everything else. So, wolves for weak, easy to kill units because they grow stronger for each kill, and minos for stronger units.
