Stuck at the Gate in Ice Lair (System Glitch?)

How do I get pass the sealed gate after killing the boss and the rest of the mobs? I have already jumped through the gate by mistake and can not get out. Unfortunately, I can not go back to a recent save b/c all my recent saves are after I jumped through the gate. Do i have to start the gave from the beginning?

The key is on the table in the room past the gate.
