How do I pass the trolls?

Lamil wants me to get a vial of enchanted water from the pool beyond the trolls caves but I can't seem to defeat the trolls! Any advice?

Fight the goblins and take their shields. They are a good way to make money and buy better weapons so the trolls are easier to beat. Each is worth 60 gold.
