How do I add "friends" without using Facebook... and is it beneficial to do so!?

I went to visit random friend and at the top it has a screen name. I wrote them down and then went back and added them.

I don't use Facebook. I click on "visit a friend". I write down that random persons reef name then go back and add them as a friend. At least that's what I do.

Ditto above. Yes it's very beneficial, you get 5 actions in one day from the reef you choose. They get the same. Whether you need coins or algae look up the highest yielding plant so you will know it when you see it.
