How do you keep the yellow octopus?

I'm at level 25 and just got the yellow octopus. Does anyone know what I have to plant to get it to stay?

I was part way to duplicating what Lovingnemo077 had done when the octopus stayed. I noticed in their reef a blue eggshell coral was touching a rock so I added that. Had 2 shells & 2 yellow shrubs. Lined up only 3 rocks by the time my second green marine shrub bloomed... Tada.. Octopus. Thanks L-077. I couldn't have done it w/o you. I suggest trying 2 shells, 2 rocks, 2 green marine shrubs first. See if that works. Check out my reef, lower right. Genesis2151.

What quest did you do for that? I haven't seen it yet.

I think it's a yellow jellyfish and not an octopus. Plant the yellow pillow.

No it's a yellow octopus. If it was a jellyfish I would have said jellyfish.

Shells, rocks, and other shrubs on the sea floor... I have tried many combos but no luck so far. Level 25

I went onto level 26 and still haven't figured it out. The quest is still there though. It's crazy how nobody seems to be able to plant the right combo for the yellow octopus.

I got it to stay! Check out my reef to see how I got the yellow octopus to stay! I know you definitely need the light green marine shrubs because once they finished growing he stayed. I planted 2 seashells, 2 yellow marine shrubs right straight across in a row and surrounded them with rocks. Then on the outside of the rocks I planted two light green marine shrubs right next to each other up against the rocks and that did it! I took pics but can't upload them here. Come see my reef to see what I did...

I got mine to stay with a rock a shell and a green shrub all touching each other. Thanks for the help.

I tried just what Lovingnemo077 said and it worked. As soon as the second green marine shrub finished growing the octopus stayed. And he arrived on level 31 for me.

I ( lv. 25) did what genesis and lovingnemo did and it did not work. Then I wanted to try again and it stayed after I put a flat rock next to a rock (being next to another rock, the three are in a row) . They are not touching any plants. ... So it is not the same for everybody.

Advise from Genesis2151 '2 shells, 2 green shrubs, 2 yellow shrubs, 3 rocks' Worked for me! I just unlocked lv 25 and the yellow octopus came by. Planted that combo and it stayed. Thanks! Though haven't seen the red one yet, though saw some guys with lower levels have it. Strange.

Mine came at l.31. Tried the combo (3 rock 2 shell 2 yellow and 2 green shrub) but it wouldn't stay, so added the flat rock and that did it.

To my reef it works when I tried plant a new one: 3 rocks, 2 small shell, 2 egg shell coral, 2 yellow marine shrub, 2 light green marine shrub and 1 flat rock. Good luck!

All you need is one flat rock, one green shrub and one small shell. All must be newly planted, reused plants and rocks wont work. they need to be on the sea bed.

Mine stayed with 1 flat rock, 1 shell, and 1 rock

It was very simple. I just tried planting a new rock, a new flat rock, a light green marine shrub, and a small shell next to each other to form a square and the yellow octopus stayed. I just hit level 25 when the yellow octopus arrived :) - my id is raksh7902. Feel free to take a look :)

Mine stayed when I did exactly the same as raksh7902, a small shell, flat rock, a rock and light green marine shrub, it also came as soon as I reached level 25
