Question & Answers
What do I do with Sand Dollars?
I have oodles of sand dollars, over 320,000. I wish we could buy pearls with them, or something else, because otherwise I spend them on things that require me to use a lot of algae (which I'm trying to conserve, though I do have quite a few). I have almost no pearls, so to me it's such a discrepancy. When treasure chests appear, I definitely spend the sand dollars on them, only to get double in return! It seems I cannot spend enough to get rid of my sand dollars! Of course, most chests are still asking me to spend 7 pearls, and I'm refusing, so they keep reappearing constantly, in multiples, and that's so annoying.
I don't have room on the reef to buy more "stuff" to place around for decoration, and I've replaced many plants for algae producers. I want to keep gathering algae because i can use that for feeding fish, etc., and I have a weird thing about wanting my dollars and algae to be even. Any other suggestions for me? I appreciate all the help from those of you who've played and gotten far in this game.

What you could do is rid of coin plants entirely, that way you can gain only algae with no coin multiplying. Stay clear of chests, they won't be worth it. You'll most likely get sand dollars, and it won't matter if you get a little algae, it won't even out. Sadly you can only get pearls (for free) by downloading games, and playing. You can delete the game if you don't like it, ( and I know that playing an awful game is a waste but, what else are we broke reef-builders gonna do). Hope this helps :-)

I'm just about to get to level 31. I used to do the same with even algae and SD. But, I decided to dig up some living plants and replace them with corals to get algae to feed the fish for pearls. I now have about 3:1 ratio of algae:SD, if that makes sense. I have an area of my reef that is a nursery for rare seeds. They are on a constant rolling of planting and then deleting straight away, unless its a new rare. That I find a good use of my SDs.
