New apartment isn't recognized by the game

So I don't know how to move into my other apartment. I bought the another one downtown but the game is saying that I still live in the neighborhood apartment. And I really wanna get a pet for my new apartment :(

You can't live in just one place. You live in all the places you buy. If you buy a pet you'll see it in wherever apartment you go.
