Anyone care to add comments to G5 developer?

Greetings, all - I am close to tearing my hair out over my pitiful gifting ability. My son has agreed to contact a friend and fellow gaming developer who works for G5 . I believe that many of us are experiencing the same problems and frustrations with the game. Would anyone care to voice any complaints not previously covered before I ask my son to look through these threads? I noted the seemingly arbitrary cut-off time for gifting, server problems, gifting Tribbles (sorry for the Star Trek reference), etc.

I would like to add my observation that all wishlist items gifted by Android players are appearing on my iPad in multiples of 5 as silver winding keys, steel springs and bronze gears. I am grateful for anything and everything, but it must be frustrating for those who are trying to gift certain items and are unable to do so. Being kicked out of the game every 90 seconds is also unnerving. Emptied cache, checked my network connections, tried the game on iOS, Android and Kindle devices. If the moderators will allow, please feel free to post any complaints, by Sunday, 09/02/14. My son will speak with his friend late Pacific time, as the issue cannot be addressed until Monday morning. Perhaps someone in networking might resolve all problems immediately, but a developer should be able to manage these complaints. Just an idea, and I thought it would be faster and more direct than awaiting the automatic response to my request.

Hi Clare. I think one of my biggest irks is that you loose energy when you gain a level. There has been numerous occasions when I've started to play the game for the day and my energy level has booted up quite high. After 2 scenes I reach a new level and basically have lost out on 400/500 energy points. I would very much wish when a player reaches a new level the existing energy points is added on extra to the points you gain when you reach a new level. I also think that one should have much more gifting possibilities. It irritates me that I can't give all my friends gifts everyday. I have so many good friends ( you included!) on tablets who gift me more than one collection item, I can't even repay the favour. Super winged lightening should changed by points and not be time. You gain 5 points for every minute and not 1 point for every minute. For me it feels so long just to gain 120 points extra. I also encountered that the game does not charge properly. I have complained to them that I wake up in the morning and my energy level has only risen by 120 points or so. I have calculated that on average it should charge at least 240 points in 6 hours. Shoo, that was a a load of my chest. Maybe your son's friend can help with these matters too? Thanks for being a wonderful friend and for gifting and visiting me every day! Oli

The mutiples of 5 are something the android users are doing themselves, not a glitch. I send 5 of each item on a friend's wishlist or maybe 10 if they only have 1 item listed. Etc. If there's nothing I can send, I send keys seeing as we need so many now for the low level collections made from gift-thank-you's. The tribbles are frustrating (I love the reference and for the sake of anyone else I believe you are referring to trying to send the last collection item in your inventory, confirming that you want to do so, and the game sends a different item anyway). The crashes are less frustrating for me as they are down to a minimum on my end (android samsung galaxy s4). But it is time for them to be fixed. No patches in a month and a half to fix issues? I personally have spent $280 on this game (don't judge) and I expect more service for my money on a game that is basically great.

Thought of another "bug" - When the server hangs as I am trying to send an inventory item, that attempt is counted as one of my ten free gifts. For example, it took me 3 tries to get a Wall Clock to someone. The remaining Wall Clocks were not deducted from my inventory (only the one), but I could only gift to 7 people today. Anyone else encountered this glitch?

Hi Clare. Yes, if you could pass along that it would be nice if and when launching a hard earned artifact, that we could be rewarded with the better rewards from searching the pictures. For example I have loads of masks but only one ruby. Thanks for listening!

Hi Clare, I don't know if they will change it or not but can you your son to find out what the logic is with the gift limitation. The rules say we can send 50 free gifts, one per friend but if we only have five friends we can only send five free gifts, why can't we share our fifty free gifts among our friends ( no matter how few) or send one free gift to all our friends ( no matter how many ). The game encourages us to make a lot more than fifty friends, it rewards us with trophies and chests full of goodies but it won't let us be nice to more than 50 of them, I'm sure there's a logical explanation and I'd really love to know what it is. . Live long and prosper.

Agree with the above comments. Small nit, I really enjoyed the extra badge to be found when I first joined. Now that I have an android phone I'm finding them again and really enjoy it. Can we have more? Also, it's a real pain to scroll through my free gifts/collection items to send. Can't it be a searchable list? Beth

I am agreeing with (whatever word you guys used) the sending of the last collection item. i love to gift, but how i hate hate hate to scroll through all those pages to get to the item and then have the server issue happen on top of it and kick me out of the game - i had about had it last night! i spend 2-3 hours a day gifting, so this is a high priority to me! one thing i would love to see and i dont think i mentioned this on the last post done by Ellen about ideas for game.i hate being kicked out of gifting someone. if you are allowed to send "10 gifts" per day why should after a gift i be kicked out of that friend- if i want to give all 10 to that friend i should be allowed and just X out when i am done. sorry just had to complain about that- at least that would help cut down with the amount of scrolling as well.

Hi Clare/Eupraxia. Thanks for having your son go the direct route. The biggest hassle for me at this point is the "unable to connect to server". No gifting/visiting ( or maybe minimal). What is their problem? Not enough server space? Whatever it is, it needs to be fixed! All our other complaints/suggestions are kind of secondary until this problem is fixed. After we are up and able to gift/ visit without problems, would be a good time to work on all the other issues and suggestions to improve of of G5's most popular games. Thanks again, Clare!

My apologies for confusing some of you with my Tribbles metaphor, but @nitey got it! :) I realise that it may seem as if I am overlooking Ellen's efforts. To the contrary, I directed my son to the thread of requests Ellen submitted to G5. I don't know what can be done about content equests. I am immediately concerned with the upswing in technical problems, especially the inability to connect to G5 servers. I attempted to send wish list items from my Android alias to my iPad account. It does not matter what I send, I receive silver winding keys, steel springs and bronze gears. I know that my friends who use Android devices send me items from my wishlist. It is a statistical improbability that all Android players decided to send the same 3 non-inventory items to me every day. "That would not be logical. " ;)

@Clare. Out of interest, did you get all the collections I sent you a couple of days ago after you posted on Holly's thread? The reason I ask is that I remember sending you five or six entire collections in one go AND all the connecting items that would complete them (as it seemed a bit mean to send loads of collections if you didn't have the ability to convert them), anyway, the fact you are mentioning getting lots of springs/gears/keys is making me wonder whether you got the connecting items without the collections and wondered what the heck was going on. in which case I'm pretty bummed because all the collection items definitely left my cache.

I agree with others - I'd like to see a bigger gifting limit, with an option to send free gifts more than once per day. And the glitch with the one gift really should be fixed. A nitpick for me: Friends who gift/visit me daily would ideally be at the front of my friends list. Or a simpler (though not as ideal option): list the friends alphabetically! They encourage 500+ friends in this game and then arrange them so illogically, that I end up overlooking some when gifting and have to scroll back and forth multiple times. Gifting and visits now take 30 minutes to an hour every day, when it could easily be modified to make it more user friendly. Very frustrating.

My son called me after speaking to his friend at G5. He sent links to the pages of technical complaints and also saved Ellen's requests as an email attachment. Not speaking for the entire company, but my son's friend was told that any problems are related to the Valentine's update. Oh, how amusing. My son plans on pursuing this. While he works for a different developer, the gaming community is quite small. The people on the creative end all seem to know each other. I am very angry, because I have spent so much time and money on crystals. As nitey remarked, "please don't judge". I was injured in an accident, have limited mobility and do spend my free time on this game and one that my son developed. I have spent far less money on in app purchases for my son's game!

Hello, I have an update from my son and G5. The Valentine's update was considered as a "new feature" and the company extended the deadline for the quest. The powers that be apparently believe that requests for new features are a bit unreasonable. The response was not quite phrased that way, but my son was not encouraged. I don't think that his point about "sloppy code" went over too well with G5, but my son is right. One thing that is encouraging - companies tend to listen to people who spend large sums of money on their in-app purchases. I collected my iTunes App Store receipts and sent them to G5 and Mytona. I won't tell you how much I have spent on crystals, because you would probably be horrified. I will say that I have spent over $2,000 since November. Before you judge me, please understand that I have limited mobility and am not accustomed to being at home. I still see my students who are working on their dissertations, and I have my family to keep me from losing my mind. This game amused me, and I (past tense) thoroughly enjoyed it. So please don't judge me for being frivolous. I don't spend what I cannot afford.

(continued from above) My reason for mentioning the above is that someone at G5 is listening to me. I am an unusually high spender for this game, and I am angry. I will take my business elsewhere. I play a game on Steam (where my son develops gaming software), and I could just move all my gaming money to their products. We should not live in a world where you have to spend money to get a company's attention, but it has come to that. I cannot connect to this game's servers. Yesterday, I could not visit anyone. I apologise; I attempted to visit my friends throughout the day and evening but kept being booted out of the game. I hope to have better luck today. I will try late this evening EST, when I usually have an easier time connecting to G5 servers. For those who may be interested, G5 is a publicly traded company headquartered in Sweden, but the development offices and tech support are in Ukraine and Russia. There is or was a U.S. marketing presence in San Francisco, but my understanding is that most requests are handled by the offices in Ukraine. My contact is Russian, and I spoke in her native language, as I did not want any misunderstandings. I am not an aggressive person but feel I need to be in this case, as I do not think that our complaints are being taken seriously. I am not under any illusion that I have the power to enact change on my own, but I will not spend any more money on purchases from G5 until they fix the server situation. HI Clare, Thanks so much for taking this on. I think many of us share your frustration and I think unfortunately money talks. It is a difficult game to play without spending money so it should be, in my opinion, providing great customer service and better programming. I cannot believe how dismissive they are when their mistakes cost money for their customers (or in my emails to G5 I refer to us as their ATMs). As I am typing this I keep thinking to myself, yeah and you are still playing it. I stopped paying anything for 6 months and finally broke down with the Christmas update then when I crashed. I too have decided to stop putting any $ into this game. For me in addition to the server issues I just find it downright insulting that they think their explanation of the Valentines Day energy items is acceptable. If they are going to lie to us could they at least come up with a better one than that? It is kind of funny how much that one is bothering me after all the other crap that has happened with this game. G5 shows time and time again they have very little interest in customer relations and doing the right things for their customers. I don't mind paying for play either. A lot of time and energy goes into updates so I think of it as a payment. I think everyone sets their own perimeters, for some it is not worth paying and others it is so there is no right answer and it is up to the individual. Certainly no judgement here. You won't get any judgement from me either, I've been disabled long enough to accept that my bedroom is pretty much my world but I do remember what it was like in the beginning. I'm addicted to hidden object adventure games and my husband spends a lot of money buying them for me including a lot of G5 games, I complete most of them in 2 days or less and have 7 new ones on my iPad right now.The secret society has kept me occupied for months but only because of the friends I've made and I have to admit I haven't spent a single cent on it, if they asked for a donation to improve the game I would be one of the first in the queue but I refuse to pay for a full dinner only to have some programmer decide I'm only getting a lick of a lollipop. The biggest reason I won't pay for anything that will help me to advance is because I had reached level 49 in my first game when it crashed and put me back to level one, I've read too many cases of this happening and I would have been very angry if I had paid to get that far. Thank you for contacting them and trying to persuade them to improve the game, I for one definitely appreciate it.
