Game Question & Answers
Can you retrieve your game from another device?
Can you retrieve your game from another device? I started on an iphone but want to switch my game to an ipad without having to start completely over.

According to G5, the answer is no. Each version of the game is device specific according to G5. I suspect that to be the case since the versions don't all come out at the same time. But, someone may have developed a method of doing it "unofficially".

You can certainly try, and there's no reason it shouldn't work. You will need a PC and the latest version of iTunes to do it most easily. You can use iCloud but need to check the settings to make sure it backs up the game data as I don't think it's automatic. The main issue I can see you coming across is losing game data for things already on the iPad, so it may be a case of choosing what is most important to you. So, download itunes if you don't already have it. Probably best to select preferences from the edit menu and switch off the automatic syncing. Plug in your iPhone and choose devices and back up from the file menu. As long as you are happy to have your ipad essentially become a replica of your iPhone then proceed, if not playing on the phone is your only option. You'll be able to re-download any apps you don't have on the iPhone, but they're unlikely to retain data. At this point you have to do a factory reset and wipe your ipad. You then start setting it up as a new device and when plugged in to itunes, you will be able to restore from your iPhone. Some apps aren't supported on both devices so may be lost, but SS is fine. I have carried out this process myself and my game survived intact.

You can copy your "player.prf" file from any device and put onto another device that has the game installed, overwriting that file and you will be able to play on the new device with your same level/friends/items/etc as you had on the original device. For iOS, just download iFunBox onto your PC or Mac, connect your device to the PC or Mac and use iFunBox to transfer that file to the PC or Mac, disconnect and connect your other device and transfer the file over from your PC or Mac. Always backup everything first in case of a glitch.

I also rooted my Android Nexus phone (the only way to get to the files, unlike iOS devices which need nothing done, just use iFunBox) and put my iPad game's "player.prf" file on it and the game worked normally; I even gifted some friends at that time, but then I put my original Android "player.prf" back because I didn't trust the game to not crash if I played the same player on two devices at once.

I have searched for the player.prf file on my Android Samsung Note 10.1 and could not find it.
