Memory Match Mystery

Among the "can be found" items in the memory match puzzle are a palette, computer, hard drive, easel and set of brushes. The are identical to the ones you receive for completing five of the collections. I only noticed these after the Valentines Day update though they may have been there earlier. I initially thought that getting any of these would yield the same bonus as when combining the collection, for example 25 ladybugs for the set of brushes. However, after noting my quantities of the various items ( fortune amulets for the palette, ice cream for the hard drive, etc.) they were not affected when I won one of these items. I then thought that they might increase my total number of collections, since that's what they represented, but it had no effect on that either. When the items won fly off the desk these ones go to the lower left corner but I can find no evidence of them after that. So, this begs the question, what have we really won?? Can anyone shed any light on this? Have you noticed it too?

Hi KateC, I haven't made my way to that level this time but did have it last game. It came with an earlier update, maybe Halloween, I'm not 100%. Back then you did get the full collection award (ie: 30 ladybugs). Maybe Valentines update brought this glitch. I am curious to see what those playing now have to say about it. Chris

They were there pre VD - there are quests for them. To be honest at the time I didn't pay that much attention, but get them on a regular basis now. I think they are just another one of the silly niggles to this game!

Thanks for the feedback Chris and ZZ. I should have mentioned I'm at academician level in memory match.

Hi KateC, I meant to mention above that it never counted as a collection since you do not combine items or at least that is what I assumed back then. The item(s) would go directly into inventory so it is strange that you are getting nothing. I am slowly crawling towards the Aca level (and very reluctantly as I cringe at the thought of those extra cards) but will pay close attention once I get there and let you know what happens. Chris

@KateC, I will be honest and say this is my least favorite puzzle so whenever I have to play it I'm just glad it's over. I haven't been paying attention of what I am winning unless it is a quest item I need. I will be more mindful going forward though.

@BA and @Mmmeee, it is my least favourite puzzle too. I only made it to academician so I could get the pink border to match the others; lame I know but I'm very visual. I only play it now if there is a quest there. I was way behind on quests but after a marathon session the other day I'm up to about 1415. I now only get one at a time rather than having a whole string down the left side of the desk. Is that normal?

How about that. I was thinking just a few hours ago that I should make a post addressing this exact issue, since I've been wondering the same thing. You mentioned everything I was going to say. :) I think those items showed up once I reached Academician level and I've never received any kind of reward from them whenever they have dropped. It took me a while to notice, though. I guess it is just another glitch...

@KateC, I remember reading somewhere here where it slows way down when you get close to the end of the quests, but I can't say if that meant one at a time or not. On my end, let's see.... 2 out of the 3 tasks that are currently staring at me are the ones that I need to play the memory match and I've been conveniently ignoring them :)

@KateC: I am up to 28% Academician in Memory Match, but I have yet to win any of the items you mentioned. I didn't notice them until I saw your post. Perhaps this is another item that is meant for the next update? The answer to your other question is, it depends on the order in which you complete your quests. At least that is how it played out for me. I completed my quests in such an odd fashion, that I had 5 quests sitting on my desk, and then there were none. By the way, I hate Memory Match, and I have a strong visual memory. Dreadful puzzle. :)

I like Memory Match -- is that odd? Finish with time left over. The one I cannot fathom is the Gem one, and so many items are only found there and can't be asked for from friends that I'm afraid I'll just have to give up the game. I understand the game's premise, but no matter how fast I work, I run out of time. It stinks!

Guess we all have our gifts and our burdens.

Y'all have a good weekend!

@MscElainey, at first I had the same experience with gem match but now I just use lots of time machines (bought with all those coins I've collected) and I actually enjoy it now. I even play it for a break from searching pictures and since I'm trying to reach the 500 puzzle award it's a useful diversion.

@Clare and @BA thanks for your responses. I'm getting closer to the end with 1440 quests complete and it's still one at time so I guess that's just the way it goes.

So everyone plays with time machines? The company makes a game folks cannot win without buying extra time?

I've been growing increasingly frustrated with Blocks, as at the bing seeker level, there are so many blocks that you can't move unless you shoot some blocks away. And the higher the game level gets in pictures, the more they fade the colors out of images until some fade completely into the background. The last few items require tools to clear. The company makes it impossible to play unless you pay.

I don't mind a challenging puzzle, but I draw the line at an impossible puzzle. If the only way to win is to pay for more time, I'll never be able to finish this game; but thanks for at least telling me how it's done. I was thinking maybe something was wrong with me.

Kindest regards,

I have won the paintbrush collection from the puzzles several times and it does nothing. No ladybugs. Useless as far as I am concerned.

I like Memory Match. I remember 4 items at a time, or 3 if kids are distracting me. Then I go in order - left to right and top to bottom. Once I find the 4 items I am remembering, I go back to the first 4 available and remember those and just look for them. Continue this way till they're all gone. Hope this tip helps. As for the collected collection items, I have yet to find a use for them. They don't count for absolutely anything. Maybe with this update that will change?
