Question & Answers

Still gift crashing

But definitely trying to get some help running JJJ's fix... My 'help' is still sleeping but since I'm crashing at a sooner point in my gift box, I feel a wake up call coming on! :D

With that said, I'm trying to be sure I send NO TY's to those requesting it by gamename. Others...I may have already sent you multiple TY's & for that I apologize!

Ahhhhhh, the drama gets 'better' now cannot even open my gift box. Anyone willing to send me anything so I can scroll past the infected? Much appreciated!

If you're my Kitty do you have a computer and if so have you tried JJJ's solution? It's really easy (I play on iPad 4) and it sorted the crashing problem. When I got another corrupt gift the other day I followed JJJ's instructions again and it worked. That was with ifunBox installed on my computer. I was also unable to open my gift box (306 gifts) originally so it's worth a try. Hope that helps :))

Good morning Kitty, I caught the bug as well when I accepted a friend that turned out to have a funky avatar. I followed JJJ's solution and it worked like a charm! I intend to use iFunBox to check my new friends periodically to keep it from happening again. Good luck - I hope it gets better soon! Anna

The biggest issue is getting the hubby to work on this on his work computer cause he will NOT allow our networked home computers be used.

All your help, patience, kind words & gifts to get me past the infected is MUCH appreciated!

Do any of you recommend deleted the friend who has caused this?? I'm torn on this as I'm sure no one is doing things like this on purpose, but it does take an act of god to get access to a computer to fix this if it happens again...

Okay Kitty, challenge your hubby, tell him that Kathie thinks he's stalling cause he thinks he can't do the fix, I am throwing down the gauntlet.

Kathie, He is Aussie & has NO 6-second edit so I will tell him but am betting I'll not be able to post his response! ;) But going through my gifts after this second crash, I think I've identified a single gifter that has sent infected gifts. I am still asking...delete or not??

I just started playing. I don't have any friends yet, but it still says I have about 200 gifts. Not sure who they could be from. And it crashes every time I tap on the gift icon. I will try JJJs suggestions.

The long winded idea I was trying to convey is that perhaps the crashing isn't from a particular "infected" friend, but just a bug in the game?? Since mine is crashing and I have no friends yet.

Aha! So you are married to an Aussie! So now I know why you changed your location to Australia! I could make a lot of smart remarks about Aussies, cos I'm a kiwi, but it wouldn't help, lol! And none of the stereotypes are true anyway! There's just always been a friendly rivalry between our two countries! My parents lived in Tasmania for 10 years and everyone I've met from Aussie are lovely.

So is your friend from this site? If they are you could PM them first! If not, then I don't know what I would do. My friend sending corrupt gifts was not from this site and I even tried to message them on a Facebook but they didn't reply. But after i fixed my gift box I haven't had a problem with their gifts anymore!

Kitty, don't delete unless you can't get fix in place. Try pm'ing that person. That is my opinion. Let us know if your husband changes his mind. I would just go buy my own PC and install program to fix.
