Question & Answers
Another game similar to gem match?
Does anyone know a game one could practice that is similar to gem match? I thought I saw one posted in an answer to another question, but I can't remember where. The other puzzles are pretty basic, even if I do occasionally need tools to complete them before the time is up, but gem match is unlike any other match three I've ever played.

Candy Crush is very similar.

Cradle of Rome and Cradle of Rome 2 by AWEM studio.
They are another developer that release their games through G5 (like Mytona, the makers of SS) and that game is almost identical to Gem Match so I suspect uses the same/similar code, which makes it a very good match for practicing. There is much less pressure when playing though compared to Gem Match so it is quite useful for getting your eye in for the matches so to speak.

I would go with any of the bejeweled games on timers, they make you think and react faster. I agree blitz is great, just don't play any on the endless mode as fun though they are, if it is practice for speed and reaction times you are after the endless mode makes you lazy (I know it's my M.O.!)

Another vote for Bejeweled mini games that require the use of timers. I know that Candy Crush is frequently mentioned as a game that can be useful for helping players hone their Gem Match skills, but there is a crucial difference between the two games. One can beat Gem Match without the use of tools, but the same cannot be said of Candy Crush, which requires the use of crushingly costly in-app purchases in order to advance in the game. It might as well be called Candy Crush, the One Armed Bandit.

Gem match 2 is also an option

Thank you everyone. I'm going to definitely try the cradle of Rome game. I am totally guilty of playing bejeweled in the relax mode, usually while I'm eating lunch and want to be sort of occupied when I don't have anything I want to read.
