Wish lists and gifting
Gifting is one of the most enjoyable aspects of many players game. Many of you already know and do the following, but for new people (and some high level people that may not be aware) it is really useful to......
Wish list - make sure you include at least one combining element, bearing in mind the maximum number of gifts from inventories daily is only 10 (come on g5, let this increase with next update)! So this allows your friends more chance of giving you something you need.
Gifting allowances - the 10 items come out of your inventory, BUT the 50 other gifts DO NOT. So, if your friend has bread rolls in their wl for example and you don't have any or many in your inventory IT DOES NOT MATTER as any you gift will only come off your daily allowance and NOT out of your stash!
I know most of you already do/know this, but it occurred to me that as some people don't, they might appreciate clarification. But to all my friends, thanks for all you gifts!

One other thing to consider when gifting - if there are no combining elements or only 1 in someone's wish list I send arrows, bugs, carrots or even fireflies as I feel other friends will give the combining element. They're free to give and we can all use them!
Answer from: Weezer
Good post. I know for myself, if I don't have any freebies on my wl I'm always in need of arrows, lady bugs, carrots, and fire flies. When someone has all collection items on their list that I don't have to send, I'll go back to see what combining elements are needed and send one of those.

Very good posts! If I don't have the collection items asked for, I do the same as Weezer, give the associated combining element or as Jay does, send LBugs, FFlies, carrots or arrows. I am fortunate to have virtually every collection these days, but I remember when I didn't have anything my higher level friends needed. I gave a lot of bugs lol!
Answer from: WoMa
Ang, thanks for posting that info for any new players who might not be aware of the "free" gifts aspect. I usually have at least one combining element on my WL, and if I need a combining element that requires a high level to unlock (washers, tinsel, etc.), I will also try and include a low level combining item on my WL - something that my lower level friends can gift. Since I play on a Kindle and can't TT, if someone only has collection items in their WL, and I have already given my max for the day, I will send a LB, FF, carrot, or arrow. Of course, if someone has that (LB, FF, etc.) in their name I will send that first - if I see it before I see their WL. If there is nothing in their name, and they have a paint brush or any collection item that yields FFs when combined, I will send a LB or FF. If all else fails, I send a carrot, since there aren't any giftable collections that yield carrots when combined. Even if you don't need them now, you will usually need them later - I know I did. I usually don't gift arrows unless someone asks. I guess that's because I have so many - watch, I will probably need those soon. :-)

I am a Kindle player so I do exactly what WoMa does- except I need arrows badly.

If I don't have a combining element on my WL it's because I can't put it on my WL, ie. bugs, carrots, etc.... lf I need something specific I'll find a way to let it be known, either thru a message left here or in my name. Sometimes I really don't need anything, as far as combining elements go. So, suprise me, send me anything but coins.LOL ;-) actually just send me coins if your updated! LOL Now I'm just cracking myself up! ROFL Woo Hoo nevermind, if you don't get this. it's probably not as funny in real life. Ha ha ha !
Answer from: KaReN
Generally, I do what WoMa does. However, right now I need arrows far more than any other combining element. Because they can't be put on my WL, I have added "arrow" to my name, and I am specifically keeping all combining elements off of my WL so that it's not easy to just tap on something else instead. Because I am on Android and multiplied all combining elements many times, including ladybugs, carrots, and fireflies, I have lots and lots of those. But that was before we Androids finally got the update. So the one combining element that I actually need is the arrow because I was unable to receive them as gifts, and therefore unable to multiply them. I chose to stop all multiplying after I was able to update because it had gotten to be a monkey on my back. I think many of us playing the game have obsessive compulsive tendencies, and I am certainly no exception. My multiple hours of multiplying daily was a compulsion I needed to stop for the betterment of my mental health. So to all of my friends who are willing to scroll, I deeply appreciate all of the arrows you shoot my way!
Answer from: NINA
I.used to gift like weezer. I would look up the items in collections and send the combining element that matches. Now, unless the free object that is desired is posted on WL, in name, or this site, I either give them the collection item, if I have it, or.skip them. I am a kindle with about 100 friends, so I have to make my 50/10 stretch as.far as I can. This means that I also skip empty wish lists or the ones that have had the same.items everyday for.more than 3days straight, unless it's obvious that they need to squirrel away the items on the list... Like collections to make dynamite. I know it's a bit harsh, but what else should I do? Any ideas?
Answer from: Itsuxbnme
@ NINA- That is perfect. Don't change a thing.
Answer from: Itsuxbnme
I mean that's perfect for NINA, since she is on a Kindle and has 100 friends. Not that it would be perfect for an iPad or Android player. Sorry, I should have clarified. By the way, I do what Jay does.
Answer from: vamplover
I think we should have a thread on here that also lets new people know what some of the things in our wish list mean...ie. paint brushes= need ladybugs, etc it would be nice to see the secret codes such as that all in one place.
Answer from: Navers
I used to always gift bugs or carrots before I restarted if a player had collection items listed that I didnt have. I used to find the elements needed with the collections, but since a lot of people multiply and have plenty, I just sent bugs or carrots. Since starting over,. I have been taking advantage of the gem thing so I have opened a few higher level freebies to be able to gift back for now. Personally, I only ever ask for elements, unless I flub and make a collection right before I need it for a quest. Then I will ask for what I need to make the quest. I preferr to find them in the game. Also. Now that I am aware of the code, I will be more....well, aware.lol I agree with vamp. A list would be grand. Oh- and if a player lists a bunch of elements, I have noticed a tendency for friends to send the highest level required ones, so I almost always send the lowest or ones I notice dont get gifted a lo. Like springs and keys. Just my observation.
