Disco's cost money (don't earn money)
Have you noticed this too? a disco will give you every hour 1508 $ (with 5 upgrade) and cost about 15000 $ in repair!! that means a disco would have to earn you at least 10x the full amount before braking down. however, mine break down on average after 3 times (4 max), so they cost serious money. i've constructed 10 for my award and now demolish them whenever one breaks down. something is a little off here ...

I have noticed they all breakdown alot and so hits hard to gain an real $$. and yes, its expencive to repair most all of them...if you go by what they gain per pay period vs what it cost to repair...maybe the application creaters can fix this?

It's not only discos: hamburger shops are worse. they get you $600-$800 a time, but cost $11,000 to repair.
i don't think it is a bug, but a deliberate ploy by the game developers. people who analyse the game will work out which ones to keep, and which to lose. here's a tip: if there's an award for building lots of them, then they're probably not very good - you need some motivation to build them!
the ones that do give a good return for their repair cost are the bungalow and the cafe. but by far the best is the atlass hotel. it gives $10,000 every 8 hours... and never breaks down! pity you can only get one of them...
