Can't find Marco or complete jokeys gift tasks

I can't find Marco in any of my friends villages despite leaving them gifts, I always connect thru game centre, on level 42 but completely stuck, have also reinstall app onto my iPhone & completed latest update :(

Marco is walking around in other people's villages he has a different hat than the others
