Tap the trunk at the very bottom at the grass.

The palm trees are already there you just need to click on them and the things you can grow on it will appear there are two palm trees they are both near the beach sides

There are no palm trees on my island either but I think they were removed. My son plays this game with me and he ran out of space I believe, so he deleted them. Now you have to buy one with smurfberries! :-( there should be a storage place for removed items!!
