I have found a trick with stealing. if you can tell the runner is going to get thrown out, have him start running back to the starting base. the ai will then throw the ball to the base your runner is now heading to. when he throws the ball, have your runner turn around.

for example, if you have a runner on first trying to steal second, have the runner steal. before the 2nd baseman gets the ball, have the runner start running back to first. the second baseman will then throw the ball to first, when he does, start running to second again.

i know this may be confusing but it's a way i've found to beat the ai. i've used this trick not only for stealing bases but also for hitting homeruns. i have had a batter hit over 100 homeruns in a season by using this method, he turned many singles into homeruns.
