Honestly as far as i know its only by adding the extra apps like bakery stpry and the other "story" apps.. once you download them and open them for a few mins. it will send you 5 gems per story you download.

There's also another way by reaching level 3 for a dish or food cook. it gives you a gem plus money. but it does take awhile. try it out. add my storm id.

You can get more coins , by tipping people and leaving them a message saying tip back. you get 20 coins per tip. that's pretty cool , right!?

One way to get gems is to install whatever other games that they advertise in Restaurant Story. They'll give you a few free gems. Also, if you cook something a lot of times so that you reach level three, you get a gem. I think you also get a gem if you get a gold badge (an achievement). Hope this helps! :)

The only way you can get gems is by cooking the same dish enough times for you to EARN a gem, nothing else works

Just give it time after you download an advertised game, it won't automatically give you the gems it might take a few minutes.
