How do i increase my level?
I have completed the game and there are no more missions and now i'm stuck at level 14. i am only 25% of the way to level 15. the ship i want requires level 16. so any ideas on how to increase my level?

Your level bar does increase beyond level 14 but at a frustratingly slow rate. for me it was around 230 kills before i progressed to level 15. i had the flying dutchman at the time.i am also holding out to buy the "big" however i have purchased the second biggest ship and have been on level 15 for more than 60 kills with no increase in level indicator. i believe that level 16 and the big is unobtainable.

Same with me i also sail the ship called victory and i'm trying to get the big at level 16 but my xp won't progress:(

i resched level 16 already and got big from treasure island.
i only managed it by sinking a few hundred ships starting in
level 14. very boaring!!! and big is not so much better compared
to victory. galapagos should perhaps work a little harder on
the story. perhaps the next version will be better - i hope so

The way is to battle in warzones, no killing random merchant ships, specifically battle-zones

My level indicator is slowly getting full aswell... yes, it does take a very long time, but if you think about it, use that time to save the million needed to buy, and also fill your ships, "star" upgrades. i recomend, droping the cheaper items from your load, such as fish, textiles, and timber, while fighting your way back to a port, to sell. this way, you can fill up the higher end items, to sell. i just hope, when the upgrade comes out, i'll be able to still sail either my victory, or big, in that version. actually, i'm hoping for a star trek version of this gaming format. that would be great.

The lower level your shop is, the more exp you get for a kill so go buy the galleon and try leveling up. trust me i know this works because i'm at lvl 20 in the game still using the galleon

I also had the Flying Dutchman for a long time, I leveled from 11-14 with it and reached almost 2 mil. When I got my level 15, I bought the Victory and upgraded everything as high as I can go. Since it holds so much cargo, you can make up your loot pretty quick (if you aren't a picky pirate in who you attack hehe) I'm already up to 700k in just a day.
Another thing is, if you just want to make more money, don't buy repairs, pick them up from your attacks. I've done "health runs" before where I only attack lone ships until I get enough health to take on a "ring match".
When you feel good enough to take them on, sometimes there'll be a nice size group mixed with pirates and merchants - attack the merchants first and you'll end up with a bigger prize in the end - just make sure you maneuver alot to avoid cannon fire
*hint: if you pack ships following you into a group and swing around the side of them when you're closer, you can make them take each other out like dominoes! (although you have a higher chance of getting hit by at least one of the ships cannon fire.)
