A good defense is critical to a winning game. if you do not have a good defense, players with a higher alliance attack points will continually attack you and in the process he/she will destroy many of your units. on the other hand, building a superior attacking force is not mandatory but can be very helpful if you want to play modern war as an attack game, rather than a building game. the rule on attacking is to find your alliance attack points and multiple it by .75 and then attack someone with a lower alliance defense than that number.

It depends on your current game level. when you are battling others you can bring to the battle a certain number of units. the number you can bring is first your level times five. you can also bring additional units based on the number of your allies. so for example, if you are level 10, you must have 50 allies to get the maximum of your units into the battle. at level 10 you can, with 50 allies you can bring your best 200 attacking units.

in the beginning light guners (1-1) are the best all around units to purchase, but as you grow snipers (5-3) become the best for a time. first, make sure you have the maximum units and then start purchasing units with higher attack/defense factors. i am at level 68 and only units with attack factors greater than six count in my battles.

When you start this game. only atack rivals do not waist energy on robbing buildings. when atacking rivals you earn special points to buy the units with verry great atacking and defence score this way you will grow strong verry fast. i'm now at level 46 and no rival in the same level is robbing me. when they do, they loose :) ( exept the ones that pay for gold) now i start robbing buildings and earn a fortune, rivals are buying my :money buildings, upgrades ect ect. when levelling up choose 1 skillpoint atack, no skillpoints for defence( they cant rob you because of your special units anyway) 2 skillpoints for energy doing more jobs next level spend 2 skillpoints for stamina. 1 attack. do that till stamina reaches 10. then only atack 1 and energy 2. see jah on the field. vicious sniper 713656314 join me

Use the Valor Medals. Build and upgrade money buildings to earn more and buy lots of units as well as defense buildings. Dont forget the boost buildings too. Each of my unit is at least 150 from the lowly light gunner up to at least the stealth boat which is im currently working on. Bigger base doesn't mean its strong and attack free...u can have the basic buildings and just upgrade it to unlock all the units needed and make it impenetrable at the same time....good luck! :D

You will also eventually find out that you get to a point where when you buy low level units (light gunner, rangers, snipers) they dont increase your attack/defence levels. I have 260 light gunners, 260 rangers and 240 snipers and if I buy more the attack/defence levels do not increase. I don't know exactly when they stopped increasing but I would say 200. When you unlock higher level units do not keep buying the cheaper ones because they will not increase your attack/defence levels

Modern War is set up for many ways to play the game. I call them the Blue Game (mainly missions), the Orange Game (mainly attack rivals), the Dirt Game (expand/build only) or some combination of all three. Personally, I play the Blue and Dirt game because fequently attacking rivals costs more dollars than you get from the attack. The downside of my style is you don't get the "Valor Units", which can be very helpful in both attack and defense. Regarding which is best, attack or defense units? Your style will dicate it. Blue and Dirt players will choose defense, while Orange players will build both.

Plato is smart! His explanation is the right one... Im a level 77 now. Started the game with attacking, orange game. Lots of valor points. Tip; Choose your favorite units to build according to your choice of land. Germain is groundtroups! Upgrade your unit-building for these units till you unlock the high-valour-units. Example for infanterie, buy GIGN instead of JUNGLE-TROOPER. Play and boost scores by playing all 3 games. When you get to the higher levels (70 >), switch to the blue game to.. see story from plato!

The indicator which game you should play is the quantity and quality of rival's attack. If you have a lot of successful hits from other players - you definitely have low defense number, so do not build, just buy more units. Check the rival list, is your rank is the same as your rival's rank? What is your rival's A/D average #? If your A/D # is higher than average-than you can enjoy expanding, upgrading and building. Ill make it simple for u just buy alot of the planes for 350 valor, the planes with 15 defence. The infantry unit with 20 attack. And also check what every unit is giving you check your stats before and after so u know if its worth it to buy that unit again simple

Answer from: Hooli
It really on what u want from this game. I am a free player who focus more on my stats. I am now level 54 only, with 50k/60k a/d as I do not do unnecessary missions to gain experience points. I prefer to remain the strong within the level. Every level u gain enable u to bring 5 allies with 4 of ur strongest unit from each segment to war till a max of 500 allies, so constantly getting highly stats units is important. Slowly ur weaker units will be "phased out" as they literally become to weak to be useful.

Answer from: Armand
You got beat Bud because your rival outgunned you 8:1. you have to have the unit values on attack far greater than your opponents defence.
