Units protection
If we dont attack other players, will we still lost units? and unit losting is over time or just by attacking others?

You can only lose units by raiding or robbing other players, other players raiding/robbing you, or by doing missions. Units do not get lost otherwise.

When you are raided you CAN lose units. The only thing protected during raids are the funds in your vault, valor and battle points. Units, money not collected or protected, gold and specialty collectables (grenade boxes, jet engines,etc) can be lost if you are raided while away. But dont worry: most raids wont take a unit. And i've never lost anything useful.
