Allies: As many as possibile, or only the 500 best?
Since you can only bring units from 500 allies to a fight, does the game automatically pick the best units or highest level/strength allies? or just the first 500 it finds? If it is random then would it be better to cull my ally list to the best 500 people?- 143-815-832

All allies are the same strength, and the game will my you use 500 allies at the max. Those 500 allies will let you use 2000 units, and units are the thing that counts. Once you have 500 allies, the way to increase your attack is to buy units with more attack and defence, so you get more bang in your 2000 units. Try buying large amounts of submarines, or eagle fighter jets (60 will do). I have 76 of every valor unit, and that helps a ton.

Still unclear.... what do we think is most true, concerning allies (not my own units):
a) the game counts just the number of allies I have and multiplies by 4 and gives me that many additional generic units (up to 2000)
b) the game is not generic and allows specific units to be added to my 'alliance strength', meaning it takes the best 4 units it finds from any of 500 of my allies.
So it's a choice between just having 500 strongest allies or as many allies as possible. I have not found an answer (or this question even) on any comment boards. I think the next thing for me to do (short from writing Funzio) is to tally up my actual unit strength and see what relation it has to 'alliance strength'

No, the units of the allies don't matter. Each ally allows you to use 4 of YOUR units. With 500 allies you can use 2000 of your units - if you have as much

Note that you will want strong players in your faction though!
