Fish before adventure! Items(fished) can be used or sold. Sell items you can't use and then talk to bard and gain fame(skill pts) for a price. Well placed skill pts make a big difference.
Every charm skill pt with early summon creatures adds to a creatures lvl and duration. And save all long duration fish for pet, the bonuses they provide can change the tide of many a battle.
