Access to the assylum

Where the guy is in the bed in the hospital I put in all red & blue pills in the funnel then I pressed on the two red buttons on the device on the wall. I'm supposed to have access to the madman key but I do not. I went back to the walk-through & rechecked everything I have done so far and everything seems fine. I've been stuck there for a long time & I cant get passed it. Please help
