How to solve glitches in communication with baby sims?

I can select to do actions for one of my babys, but the sims just stand their for ages and dont complete the actions, the baby's are trying to grow up but they cant because the sims cannot complete the actions, and cheats or hints to solve this?

If you pot the baby on the floor it usually grows up, at least when that happends to me
