How do I handle strikes?
There's a settler striking at the marketplace demanding food, although there's plenty of food around and nobody else seems to have a problem. How can I feed him?

Although I am new to this game, I think if you have an abundance of food and other resources and you have people striking, it is because you are producing more than is necessary. You may have two of something when you only need one and therefore you have a couple of guys that have nothing better to do then stand around the market place making you think they're hungry when they're not... Does that make sense?

I've noticed the same thing happening, my belief is that the food that is there is actually already taken by a different settler already heading there, I think that the game reserves food for settlers already on the way to get food and hence if theres say two full butcher shops but there are 18 settlers already heading to grab food than the 19th one that is hungry can't grab food because the game says "oh there are already 18 settlers going to grab the 18 available food s you can't grab some until more is made" but since 9 is the max for both butcher shops they have to w8 to make more food until the at least ONE of the 18 settlers grabs the foo form the shop. I figured this out because if you ever click on settlers moving around some of them will say that they are going to get food, and I've had settlers on strike at the time I do this. HOPE THIS HELPS! xD

@ leslie64: you can tell when settlers are hungry by clicking the building they are from and looking at the apple; if the bar is red and there is no food available they go on strike, and will only go o strike for lack of need not because they have nothing better to do ;)
