How to catch makarov
I blew up the chopper and left yuri on the roof to chase makarov. when i get to the helicopter pad the chopper flies away and says "makarov" got away. what is the trick to catching the chopper or makarov before he gets away? thanks for any help

You have to run over and jump to the chopper as it is about to fly off.

I have the same problem. when i get closelynto thenchopper the message says "makarov got away"
is there any way to get him faster? which bottom shouldni use? or which moment should i jump please let me know... thanks a lot

If you are on ps3 need to press l3 then you will be able to run faster

Ok so if your on ps3, you run ( l3 ) as soon as you get up after you fall. you run then jump, theres really not a special timing you jump....

Hold shift key down on PC to sprint

(For PC) Sprint to helicopter - hit space bar to jump onto helicopter - hit Q (action button) to block kick & throw pilot out of copter - continue to hit Q to block being shot & stab guy in neck - crash - hit F to crawl to gun,continue to hit F to attack Makarov - Hit F to punch Makarov then hit both Left & Right Mouse Buttons to strangle him & finish off hitting F to punch him through glass to hang himself!

I have tried catching makarov by sprinting (L3) but the message is always the same! does the game actually go any further? because I don't understand why catching him even when running fast is virtually impossible!. any other tip will suffice!..thx!

On the PS 3 press down on the L3 and sprint towards the front of the helicoptor whole constantly pressing the X button. I had to do it a few times and them finally got it. Press R3 to kill the pilot.

Thank you very much. after trying several times catching Makarov, its finally worked as they wrote here to click on (L3 and push forward to run faster) thank you very much. you can also do it!

Sprint til the chopper. Then when you gonna jump, release the sprint button. You'll be able to catch that chopper.

You press down on l3 which is the left joystick this is run

My problem was that I was holding sprint as I jumped and that did not work. When I let up sprint just before jumping it worked fine. This was on the PC. Incredibly stupid bug.
