Health of my pirate

The health of my pirate is "failing" so now he is to slow in fights and cant win anymore. how do i get his health back up?

I'm afraid you have to restart, if you dont want to get injured, always use rapier and keep tapping square, if anyone offers speed related items, accept, and only divide plunder if above 15000. also, keep attacking ships to gain money and crew, this also help with morale.
