DragonFire Cannon Battle Pack (gold Colour)
Hi, I've bought the Skylanders Giants Triple Pack - Chop Chop / DragonFire Cannon (Battle Pack) Gold Colour / Shroomboom for my son. The problem I'm having is when I put the DragonFire Cannon on the Portal of Power which it accepts it then asks me to place a Skylander Figure on the Portal of Power and the cannon seems to disappear and doesn't go onto the TV screen ? I'm not sure where I am going wrong or what I'm misunderstanding ? Any help appreciated please. Thanks.

Well, the portal can take 2 Skylanders and 1 Magic Item, this is a Magic Item. But you still need a Skylander on there, somebody to play. At ALL times you need at least one playable figure on there to play, the other Skylander and the Magic Item are optional after that, the first Skylander is required. It sounds like you're putting it on INSTEAD of a Skylander, you still need a person to play as. Without a Skylander you should be in the mystic "Put a Skylander" screen, and no, NOTHING shows up on this screen except the Skylander you put on the portal.
Firstly, the fact that you have the Golden one doesn't make any functional difference. It looks different in real life and in the game, and the game recognizes it as Golden, but otherwise it's the same as the standard silver. What it does is follow your Skylander around, and if there are enemies around, it will fire a BIG shot at them, going through enemies. If there are still enemies around, after a couple of seconds it will fire again. It will continue doing this until there are no enemies left or the usage time expires (the usage time is reset every time you start a level).
It also adds a battle arena to the PvP mode (I think it's called Battle Mode on the main Skylanders menu). THIS I'm sure has already been accomplished.
It can't follow you around if there's no "you" to follow, right?
Oh, yeah, also this item is specifically for Skylanders: Giants. You posted this question in the forum for the first game, Spyro's Adventure. It WILL NOT WORK in this game. From the sounds of it, the game might be recognizing it, which means you're trying this in Giants. If you're trying this in Spyro's Adventure (SSA), that might explain your difficulty. SSA doesn't know what this item is, it probably should report a problem if you try.
