I don't think you can. when you choose your horse it seems there is more to unlock as there are empty boxes, but actually if there's something there it will have a question mark on the block.... that's what i think anyway, i'm not 100% sure.

I think there is a thing on Go Vacation where the horses are missing on the mountain Resort so maybe if you find them then the prize may be new horse types. Because i was watching a cheat video on how to get keys and the guy got a balloon message saying that the horses were missing, and that was probably cuz he was pretty far into the game so if u guys want to get horse types, try getting far in the game.
