How to collect 85 hats?
How do you collect 85 hats? I have bought every one from Auric and found every one in the chapters and the Spyro Adventure chapters. I am still short of the 85 total? How do I collect more?
Answer from: Replay
3 hats are from doing the character specific quests thats the gold, silver and bronze top hats, i believe you get another from finishing the game on the highest difficulty (opens after you finish the game the first time) and i think there are a few others from completing the addition levels darklight crypt etc.. from the first game.

Thank you for taking the time to help me with my question. I have completed all the chapters, all the four adventure packs, all my characters have the bronze, silver, gold hats and I did get the Knight Helm hat for completing the Nightmare mode. That still leaves me with 79 hats and 10 missinig hats. I recognize some from the series one game. I wonder if there are some series 2 skylanders that play on series one and you have to go back to that game to them? The hats I am missing are Coonskin, Straw, Bone Head, Lil Devil, Jester Hat, Pan Hat, Flower Hat, Vintage Baseball and Straw Hat. Do you know of any series 2 skylander that plays in series 1?

Nothing you do on Spyro's Adventure affects what you have in Giants. For example, there was one console-specific hat for each console, so people on the Wii didn't get the hat for the XBox or PC, etc. etc., but all of these hats were re-released in Giants on all versions.
From the sounds of it, you didn't find Hatterson and his hat shop, he has about that many hats. On the Dread-Naught (Flynn's Ship), go to the front-right cabin where you can use the Legendary Treasures on the ship, and put on the Dragon Engine (it's the only one that works for this), it looks like bat wings. Then, go to the main deck. Notice how there's a gap in the wall closest to the "camera"? Walk off the edge there, you'll land on the wing. Enter the door, meet Hatterson. He has/is a hat shop, I would guess these are all the hats he has. They're all fairly weak so you aren't missing much, but I understand desiring completion. :)
