Question & Answers
What series 2 skylander plays in series 1 game?
I am having trouble collecting 85 hats. I recognize some of my missing hats from game 1. I wonder if I need to play game one with a series two skylander to get them. My missing hats are Coonskin, Miner, Straw, Bone Head, Lil Devil, Jester, Pan, Flower, Vintage, and Showtime Hat. Do you know of any skylander that can be played in both games? I've bought ever hat from Auric, complete a regular game, Nightmare game, all 4 adventure chapters and cannot get 85 hats. Any help would be appreciated. Thank you

I have a list of all the hats, I haven't checked but I would wager a guess that Random Guy is right, with that many missing hats you probably didn't find the hat merchant, Hatterson. Equip the ship with the Dragon Engine (it's the only one that works for this, looks like bat wings). Then, you know how in the second level, going from island to island, you had to walk off the ship at the top of the screen? Notice how the bottom edge has the same gap in the wall. Walk through this gap to fall down to the Dragon Engine, walk in the door, meet Hatterson. He has/is a hat store with a bunch of low-level hats. This should be all that's missing for you, if you have 3 stars in all the levels and have bought all of Auric's hats.
As for the other part of your question, I've seen boxes claim differently, but theoretically, ANY Skylander who existed in Spyro's Adventure, the Series 2 version should still work in that game. So for example, if you get the Dragonfire Cannon pack, Shroomboom is a new character, released for Giants. He won't work. But the Series 2 Chop Chop in that pack should work, since Chop Chop was released for the first game. 3 characters from every element, so 24 in all, were re-released for Giants, any one of those 24 should work (Lightcore and other versions should, too).
