How do i get more people like the pet trainer?

I really want to get more townies. i have already got the pet trainer by upgrading all the shops in the town center. but i want more townies. plz can someone help me? i will be very greatful. thx

I'm not sure but i've already unlocked the pet trainer and a few townies, (such as cindy lou, wanda, hilary duff.) i think the more you advance into the game the more things get unlocked.
