German Campaign, Level 2-4, Siege of Tobruk. HELP!
Does anyone know any tips for beating German campaign, mission 2-4, Siege of Tobruk? I just CAN'T beat it. Help!
Answer from: WWII Ace Clay
The first thing to remember is that the objective of this mission is to protect your ground units. If all of your ground units get destroyed or you are shot down, then you lose the mission. Here are some tips to help you with this mission. (1) Stay on your side of the battle field and let the RAF fighters come to you. That way you don't get hit by anti aircraft guns and you can protect your ground units better. (2) Kill enemy planes quickly. You have to kill 3 to 4 enemy planes per minute. (3) Check behind you often. After making a kill, zig zag and loop to avoid getting shot up by enemy planes. Once I see tracer fire, I turn away from it then loop. You don't take as many hits. (4) Shot at enemy planes attacking your ground units. You may not hit them, but sometimes they will abort the attack. After you have shot down 27 enemy planes, you will have the option to "continue attacking or withdraw!". You can then return to your base and complete the mission. If you are not too shot up, you can attack the enemy base and bomb Tobruk for additional points. You will still encounter enemy fighters but not nearly as many as before.
