Staircase not showing

At the end of learning the reducto spell session the game directs you to go see dumbledore, but i can't get up the stairs as theres no way to activate them (pulls are missing). is it a game glitch or did i miss something?

The same thing has happened to me, there is nothing around to shoot, its just an empty landing
