Well the red dragon near the healing pond, I find his line... What i mean is I tried to get him to follow me to the healing pond so i could stay in pond and wi za za zup him. He stops at a certain point and flies back to the middle of camp. I then got frustrated... so i eased back closer to him and noticed he will come to me ... do two moves... and im attacking the heart stone and fly back to the middle. Then he will walk right back to me, so luckily I had 354 herb and 200 mushrooms... (health and stamina) I kept repeating the attack and it took Three days and nights in Dragon Dogma but I beat that sucker...............boom baby

I done it at a low level I was only level 35 with a mystic knight and if you look around the outskirts were you fight him you will find 3 ballista's to help or just grab on him and keep hitting his heart and make sure you have some stanima potions so you can keep hold and make sure to revive your pawns they help a lot and after you get some really really good loot and good weapons depending on wich vocation you are when you fight him I got a really powerfull sword called dragons dogma
Answer from: Breeze
The answer depends on how you build and equip your party - and your personal combat style.
The Dragon levels to match yours and that of your main pawn. Basically take your level and add half of the level of your main pawn, that's the level of The Dragon. Support pawns don't add to it's level, they just provide background support generally.
Using the ballista helps bring The Dragon down so you can perform mount attacks, switching between normal/explosive bolts also helps - use normal to target wings and explosive to target heart/head.
Armour choices should balance physical/magic defence and items that protect against elemental fire. Making sure your pawns have the right defences is important, as is choice of weapons. If you have been storing weapons at the inns/camps make sure you invest in enhancing them up for your support pawns - they won't do any good sitting in storage.
A good party mix is main character Assassin, main pawn Strider, on warrior support pawn and one mage support pawn. The strider's area effect attacks support the assassin's and warrior's - particularly if either use a shield. The strider skills associated with arial jump attacks allow for mount attacks while the Dragon is still airborn and if the mage has the multiple ice column spell the assaind can also go fo jump attacks using them as jump points. The warrior is your basic tank, holding attention while the others get into position.
Play to party strengths/skills and make sure each has the right mix of health/stamina boost items.
The overall 'key' to this game is preperation and party build - get that right and you'll do fine. Just do all available side quests and put in the effort farming experience/materials whenever your out in the wilds - those skins/pelts/ores/bones all help enhance weapons and armour.
Patience and careful choices of skills/equipment pay off.
Go get em!

For me it was pathetically easy because of a game break i found using the mystic knight if you set a ruinous sigil them a great cannon what happens is when the enemy touches the sigil it hits the cannon causing the cannon to fire of extremely rapidly add elemental augments to the mix and most enemy's are cake (though you should be able to defeat the smaller dragons easily once you are level 50 with a maxed out vocation).
Answer from: Nagase
The best and by far the most efficient and easiest way to killthe dragpn is to change your vocation to either ranger, assassIn or strider. By like 100 or so blast arrows, (i usually buy as many as my support and main pawns can carry. They are really heavy and will slow you down) Go to whatever monter you want to kill, (in this case, the smaller or larger dragon), stand at a reasonable distance, equip arrows and unleash dem on the dragon using either fivefold fury or tenfoldflurry. Kills the monsters in the blink of an eye

Honestly, the easiest way to defeat the dragon is to have the right party members...Usually you should go for a Ranger or Strider (The bow and arrows may be put to use) ALSO, a mage may be of large help too. Fournival also offers an arrow that "instantly kills" an enemy for about 200k. You can also consider that, if you're a Strider or Ranger.
